Because it creates a false dichotomy in people's minds. It pushes everyone into a zero sum mode. They have to win at the opponent's expense. Instead, both parties should be looking for win win solutions to all the problems they fa

Same sentiment here. About 7 years of arch and i3. Machine migrations are literally dd or rysync commands. I am in love with the fact my OS layer just does not change at all. It's boring and I like it that way.

Have you ever set up a free slack community? Because I haven't. It's a nightmare, you need custom software to even invite people. Besides that, its severely limited. Discord has a real free model, slack does not.

Tapu is a Maori word, it's a bit more nuanced / not quite the same as taboo but close. It's not like nobody can touch, just not everyone can touch. And not really about touch at all but it's part of it.

You know Devs can relatively easily get around 250k in NY / SF right? Trades are solid career choices but it's hard work and you expire at about the same rate as a software dev.

I'm on a team of Devs and non Devs. We have non Dev bi people on the team, they set timelines in days for things that would take me minutes in a spreadsheet and hours in code. It's kind of awkward.

To be honest you lost the privacy battle when you bought apple hardware. Can't run Linux, can't run windows, you're stuck with zero competition in the OS space.
