I'm not sure that having dash cam footage is analogous to having access to private conversations to the degree of a social media company.

We've been doing that for a few years now. Basically we have two queues: The queue for escalated defects, and an ordered queue of about 10 prioritized enhancements that we've ordered based on what we think is most important compar

Deciding that would be the job of the military wouldn't it? That's how cuts usually work. If they need some random on HN to tell them how to do that then they probably shouldn't have the job in the first place.

I think that this opinionated writing style is really great for product documentation, particularly when you are documenting something that is not intrinsically interesting. As an author writing like this you are leaving yourself vulnerable

I think that this is a false trade-off. Being "in the moment", or "present" doesn't mean turning off your brain and not planning for the future. It is possible to be present while you are planning for the future. Th

This "Living in the moment" stuff has depth such that many books have been written on it. It is one of the premises of mindfulness meditation, and Buddhism thoroughly explores this. The summary is that you will be more satisfied i

I'm not so familiar with scheme, but I can perhaps give useful answer regarding how this works with SBCL (Probably the most well known common lisp implementation). In SBCL, we would commonly say that code is "evaluated" rathe

Keep in mind the race condition in the flow-chart. The algorithm as described will not be safe if the same key is updated concurrently.

Failure is such a normal thing that I cannot see how it would be heartbreaking. It's heartbreaking to think that some see all failure as a dark thing that must be avoided. Holding failure in low esteem is a path of fear and egomania. I

You set a goal (make video games) then gave up on it (didn't make video games), thus failing that goal. It isn't madness, nor is it rocket surgery. It's pure semantics. I guess you have chosen a path that is not mentioned, &q

This depends on the nature of your scaling issue. Are you having trouble with consuming events? Or with adding all of your events whilst trying to ensure that they are ordered? For the former, you might use something like [ZooKeeper]( https
