Agree almost 100%. I do use vim mode for bash and it works great because lateral motion is most of what I'm doing there. But Sublime's vintage mode actually was the breaking point for me, and made me go whole hog back to vim. Clos

Really like this idea. My grandmother has had alzheimers for about a decade. There was a time at the beginning when this would have helped her spirits.

Okay, can someone please explain how anything else is on the front page? Amazing work. My only comment is that the shortcode generator should be, well, shorter. For example you have A-Z and 0-9 which wouldn't match any existing/

I took his PLT class at Columbia and TA-ed the class later. Best professor I ever had. I believe he is now at West Point where students won't whine when he hurts their brains. Would like to see the book re-done with Haskell as the base (r

I think it's a fantastic idea, congrats. My son is 1.5 yrs and loves playing with the ipad, though I am careful he doesn't use it as a tv. when he puts on another .5 yrs I'll definitely use your app.

Cool article. FYI - a HN reader is mentioned (Tobias Lutke): http://news.ycombinator.com/user?id=xal In this one case, Tobi might be more correct than bragging though... [edit - had wrong user account at first]

Agree 100%. If you want to start a startup and are not willing to learn to code you are either a coward or stupid or lazy. You don't need to be a full-on hacker, but if you haven't even tried to implement your vision (coders and funding be

Yep. And obviously if asked about Arash's role, Drew would say something classy like "I couldn't have done it without him". But that doesn't mean he couldn't/wouldn't.

Since dropbox's valuation might be bigger than that of all the other YC companies (including airbnb) combined, it serves as blazing evidence that you don't need a cofounder. Possibly the truth is that singlefounder companies have more strug

Fuck needing a technical-cofounder. PicDigest looks very cool, which means that YOU are already a technical founder. It's your baby, your burden. Bring in other people as you need them, but looks like you are good as you are. Feature reques

Elixir is awesome, it's like Ruby and Clojure having sex on an Erlang waterbed. However it still is maturing at a quick clip so I haven't done any production work in it. But since Jose Valim is probably my favorite developer alive, I have
