I'm not familiar with what happened at 3AC but it sounds like there was leverage involved. The arb opportunity i'm talking about is something that exists with all ETFs and keeps them in line with the underlying asset.

You need support of the miners to effect a change on bitcoin, they won't support a change which is contrary to their interests.

If they diverge, an arbitrage opportunity will appear which market participants will jump on.

With ETFs, you don't need to be concerned with reserves. I can buy the ETF, go to the market-makers, and ask them to exchange the ETF for either bitcoin, or a cash equivalent. If they can't deliver, they're in trouble. There&

If I can point to a single aspect which distinguishes the companies that are software first (google, apple, tesla, etc) and those that aren't: it's input lag on the UIs. Companies that treat software as an afterthought don't

Groove Salad used to be my life. It put me through university , late night studying, geeking out on the computer.

I setup a proxmox on a bare metal server to create development VMs. The solution that works for me is IPv6. Every VM that I create is publicly accessible, it's secured by a firewall and openssh public key only access. It's standar

That's pretty fraudulent. Unless you signed a B2B contract, you can't claim thath.

a $200 chromebook blows away a $1000 ipad for develompent. It's got nothing to do with raw horsepower but rather software support. for example chromeOS has developer tools. the ipad doesn't.

Don't. Install code-server on a remote server. Your chromeOS device is a just a front-end, you don't need to actually run anything on it besides a chrome browser pointed at your code-server instance and an ssh connection.

So many people over the years tried to turn their ipad into a remote development machine and failed spectacularly, because of the aggressive app suspend (your ssh/web sessions get disconnceted) and the weird keyboard support in iOS (ke

Same here, I initially got an Epyc 1st generation server with 256gb and was happy for a while, until I figured out single core performance was important for my workflows (web development). Then I got a a 7950x3d and i'm now super happy

Why would you ever need to hit Shift-Option-F12 ? They keyboard is customizable and the IDE shortcuts are customizable. I have a VsCode layer on my crkbd ( https://github.com/luc-languagetools/qmk-crkbd-vscode-builde...

I agree. On my ergodox, the top row was f1-f12, and I had a virtual numpad on a layer.

I don't get it, you can make a [ , ] key anywhere. The ] key could be to the right of your pinky on the homerow. The [ key could be the one right above that. Personally, I have ()[]{} on the home row, activated by a layer and i'm

I went all in. No laptop, no other keyboards. From now on, your only computing devices are desktop computers or two-in-one convertibles (microsoft surface pro). My coworkers don't touch my keyboard, I don't touch their dirty keybo

on the keyboardio, how do you accurately hit the right thumb key ? the four thumb keys all have the same shape. I see a high risk of getting them confused.

I am a customer and bought several ZSA keyboards. I specifically DO NO want wireless. I want tried and tested wired with appropriate cable length and that's exactly what they did here.

Given how prevalent remote editing workflows have become (VScode remote, I'm sure there are others), I 100% agree with this advice. If you're working on some projects on a remote VM, just store your project files there. It's

Character by character sync. You type one letter on your desktop, it appears on the mobile app maybe a second later. Dropbox sync can't do that.

You can't host the sync server on your NAS, but you can definitely synchronize your notes to your NAS, which means you still have them available in case your desktop goes down and your smartphone breaks or is lost or something.

Super happy Obsidian Sync user here. I migrated over from Notion, here are the areas where Obsidian blows Notion out of the water: - Insanely low input lag especially on mobile. Obsidian is FAST. When i'm out and about checking my shop

I'm a huge believer in remote / cloud development, but this is not something I'll consider using. Here's why: with my current setup, VSCode + Remote SSH and development VMs on a proxmox bare metal box, I have a native ID
