> Who will get the bailouts instead is the pension funds and other investment vehicles It's the same thing in the end. Bailouts don't come from outer space, we all pay for delusions of few.

Well yes. I for one won't sign up for an odd one-off job for a stranger because it more often than not ends up in a quagmire of unfulfilled miscommunicated expectations. It's not fraud per se, it's just.. a wrong approach. Jo

I thought we were talking about how eLoran is cheap enough. But if you are about jamming, well. Either discontinue AIS/ADS-B or directed VHF jammers are not that conspicious. Not even a PESA, 60s tech.

Sufficiently pure dichloromethane is also fun stuff. It just eats through most any gloves, plastics, whatever. Even PET, and only polyethylene is somewhat resistant. LD50 about 2mg/kg oral. By oral it's meant that well.. if you so

Even a 160m guy-wire tower is cheap. 40m.. my friend installed 32m one just to have better internets, not exactly out of pocket cash, but nothing compared to say swapping a car.

Who cared, we were 15 at the time. Besides you worry too much. Entire cities were wired with cat5 hanged off steel cable between 9 to 15 story buildings in early 2000s, before fiber. Nothing burned down.

IIRC crossovers are pre-2000, yes. "Fast Ethernet" or 100Base-T adapters usually could talk over straight link. edit: as for length, it depends. you won't get a gigabit over 150m of crap cat3, but you will get a link, even if

I remember we played warcraft 2 over ~15m of cat3 cable stretched outside between two flats on 6th floor. Those were the times, lol.

I wonder is there a market for portable EMP guns to disable crap like that? I mean, it's pretty trivial to make one out of shocker, some foil and a ditched microwave oven and it will kill most any electronics on sight.

Okay. It is a small font within a small column which wastes like 60+% space of a screen, and I use tabs, eh? Tabs are not windows, I will not resize my browser just because of one single tab. This is a horizontal 24" 1920x1200, not a f

I don't disagree with there being an opportunity or using CNC, I only point out that pinning everything to materials suitable to widely available CNC is too limiting. Like, using plywood for verticals is overkill, they don't exper

I applaud you and your project. But CNC isn't the silver bullet. What I ended up with is 25mm glued wood for frames, 55mm for tops and 15mm plywood plus veneer for facades. If you use 19mm for frames, you won't have enough strengt

yeah, those cardboard tables.. I had to glue in 2-4 (5 by 10 cm) stringers and refix legs to them for it to hold a measly epson c8600 and even then it stands on wooden planks to distribute the load. ikea is a great inspiration for making

Energy efficiency is secondary, that can be mitigated by solar power plus some thermal mass inside. That is actually most efficient use of solar from my pow. Their bane is hydrogen partial pressure dropping due to it leaking through the met

Problem with EVE is that they did not have a solution for the problem of resource accumulation from the start. It was mitigated to some degree by great wars of old, and then wormhole space, but then they a) sold out to koreans with their i

There is no compressor. No moving parts. The only thing that I personally heard was heater relay clicking (that was 70s tech) and some intermittent bubbling.
