globbing expression expand to all the files that match. if a directory has 1.txt, 2.txt, and 3.txt then << rm * >> expands to "rm 1.txt 2.txt 3.txt" and is then executed. if you have -@, 1.txt, 2.txt, and 3.txt, that

This is pretty cool! Interestingly, once SQLite 4 comes out you'd probably implement this the opposite way, using Raft consensus (and something like etcd) for block storage, and using the SQL engine over arbitrary pluggable block stora

Beyond the costs of the dates, Boston has helped with other expenses: an Ikea bed I'm currently tickled pink at the idea of someone having enough money to put themselves together in the morning but not for a <$200 bed+mattress

How did this compare against Hash Array Mapped Tries? It looks like the amount of nodes that you'd need to change would be smaller, and updates are less dramatic. (They're common in functional programming for persistent data struc

If you can move to SF, for a little while at least, you'll find a white-hot job market, especially in security, and background checks aren't so big here. (Was this responsible disclosure, tho?) Email me if you can move to the Bay

It's also unclear how many rows they're trying to do this on, and at what frequencies; that's the crux of what turns this from a small-to-medium-data problem, which you can easily solve on a large box with 10 lines of code, t

No, but mergesort can easily fall back to dumping its sorted contents to disk, for later merging; this disk-based merge sort was invented by van Neumann in the 1940s, and is how the unix utility sort works (dozen-way merge of sorted shards
