Because talking to people is a much richer interaction that just typing, and camming still feels weird. Also, having grown up in Brooklyn, I find Manhattan quite a thrilling place to visit.

It's not suit-logic: I'm genuinely interested. Gruber had a blog post about how PowerBook specs from 2002 are equivalent to iPhone specs, and the Air's got gesture support. And Apple hasn't pre-announced anything, obviously, so everything

It should delight them that writing proofs help you think about thinking logically, monads help you write abstract code, prime numbers (and the difficulty of factoring them) helps you think about encryption; it's just that explaining that "

Given the trend in people packing less into smaller luggage, I wonder how feasible it would be to completely dispense with the overhead lockers and the cargo areas and have a bilevel plane, with slightly more room at the seats to stuff your

The software itself doesn't work against you, but for people to have a good interface it has to go through a lot of use. (That's why bash, for instance, is so much better as a shell than GIMP is as a picture editor.)

If you use Damien Katz's Negative Captcha, you can even skirt the captcha, if your users aren't malicious: just have an invisible honeypot field called "email" for the botspam to fill out, and call the visible email field something else.

SQLite version 1 was implemented on top of a gdbm backend. They ran SQL queries on top of a key-value store. I wonder if Tokyo Tyrant, which has the goal of being a modern implementation of dbm, would make a good backend.
