The big loser from this ruling is Mozilla. The Firefox search deal gives them a big chunk of their money and they are already financially not in great shape.

Without civil wars. Both experienced substantial street violence in the transition to democracy. And only Taiwan did it without US military forces in the country to influence the political process.

Nobody really knows what large scale combat between stealth fighters will look like, but that paradigm is completely valid for upgraded 4th gen planes.

Its hard to operate those weapons in the western pacific. Patriot launchers tend to sink in water.

Also F-35 was designed in the middle of the unipolar moment, when nobody really knew what future air combat would look like. Thus it was given the task of developing every technology in the kitchen sink (stealth! sensor fusion! VTOL! multir

At least with F-35 we are getting stealth fighters by the thousand for the western alliance at the end of all of it. Starliner has delivered only pain and sadness.

I don’t think this is really an emergency, the crew from starliner are all safely on the space station and can live there for a while with adequate supplies can’t they?

The concept of a drone with low RCS features is pretty sane by military tech standards, it would surprise me if they hadn’t been developing such a thing.

I hate with a burning passion having to manage packages myself. MATLAB comes preinstalled with everything and the kitchen sink.

I primarily use MATLAB and what stops me from using Julia is the package management. Also the VSCode extension has weird performance problems when trying to debug Julia code.

The two which I’ve read are concerning are using the ferromagnetic material in a sub to detect tiny variations in the magnetic field using supercooled sensors and just better computers and acoustic sensors to extract more signal from well b

SSBN stealth could be at risk by mid-century if current technologies continue to advance in surveillance and information processing. That would be enormously destabilizing from a grand strategic perspective but is still very much a future w

The claim seems to be that the microcode on the CPU is in certain circumstances requesting the wrong (presumably too high) voltage from the motherboard. If that is the case fixing the microcode will solve the issue going forward but won’t h

Exactly. I’ve thought since ChatGPT first took the world by storm that the directional promises of AI were completely correct but the hardware isn’t at all there yet. The dot com bubble crashed yet the Internet is more important than ever t
