Java hate? I never said all Java programs were bloatware, only that WEKA was and that was a distinct difference between Waffles, which is what the OP asked.

Yeah, but WEKA is a piece of Java bloatware. Waffles looks awesome, especially if they keep it lean and mean and truly try to adhere to the unix philosophy like they say. I'm excited.

I haven't done any CUDA programming, however I have wanted to dive in. I've been to some conferences where the breakpoint between whether CUDA gives enough benefit to the computation is largely driven by time to load a dataset into memory o

Do you store full copies of all data? What I mean is, if someone breaks into Greplin, can they effectively read all of my email assuming I've synced with Gmail? Or do you just index the data and reference sources using URLs?

That's correct. Watson only learns from correct answers after a question has been completed. This is mentioned specifically int he Nova documentary.

It can always be "awesomer". However, calling it half-assed I think is a bit harsh. The truly novel aspects of Watson are that in its abilies in to answer questions in a truly domian-free way. It is not trained to be an expert in a specific

No, it is fed the correct answer by text once the question is completed. They said "listen" in the documentary, but later, in passing, specified what they meant by that. In particular, the demonstrated the active learning when Watson failed

This was answered in the Nova special, in passing. The question is fed to Watson as text at the same moment it appears on the display that the contestants can see. Likewise for correct answers. Watson is not performing speech recognition.

Hacker News is the specific means by which this scammer is finding his victims. That, specifically, is what makes this relevant, IMO.

At the risk of adding to the intrigue here, I think it's best if this community knows that there might be someone unsaviory amongst us. It is jiganti's perogative whether or not to out the person responsible for this. However, nothing stops

You met someone on the internet. You sent them money. Presumably, you have no contract (at least you didn't mention it). The person who has your money isn't doing what you want. You've realized doing this was amazingly stupid. Consider the

Why? Cloning a repository doesn't improve the morality of downloading and viewing this code. In the same way that it is wrong to receive a stolen radio, you shouldn't touch this code with a 10 foot pole no matter how it's packaged.
