I see. Thanks. I'd say data transformation is a part of feature engineering (commonly the bulk of the effort in a ML application). And exploratory analysis is part of model work. W/o those 2 one would be building a model out of dreams and w

I'm genuinely curious (not being snarky or wtv): what do you put 95% of your effort into?

I've heard this argument ever since Norvig's Unreasonable Effectiveness of Data. While having a ton of data available is great, it has its limits. I believe you are overestimating the effectiveness of data (as, imo, Norvig did). And here sp

dont have any numbers for you but it's typically CPU-bound and not memory-bound. deep learning is often done using GPUs because of massive-parallelism.

Very common issue with machine learning: you have to be careful what your examples are (training set) or the algorithm will learn things that you don't want it to learn or that _you_ know are incorrect but _it_ has no way to know that.

You know what else is worthless without other people's content? Google. Does it make Google's achievements any less noteworthy? Any less useful? No. Your point s invalid. Content is worthless without a means to access it. That's what Instap

I know. But yes I was thinking that the password still has to go through UIs (Web & Native), be sent over the network and read by the server and only than can it be hashed and compared to the stored hash. I agree it sounds weird especia

Good point. But Apple is a multibillion dollar international corporation (more billions than MS) and they still famously cut corner cases. If you go into every corner case, you'll never ship and I don't really think it's that practical/easy

Some programmer decided to filter characters and limit the length of a string. Honestly, it's reasonable. I know it's not the point but 16 ASCII chars can be used to create a secure windows password. And people with passwords bigger than 16

I believe that's incorrect. Manning wasn't talked into putting himself in the brick. Well not literally: he bragged about what he had done to someone on an internet chat. That someone was a convicted hacker that gave him up to law enforceme

Lets take into account that invading an embassy is a rare occurrence (happened once that I know of), that it's largely regarded as somewhat hostile towards the nation that owns that embassy and the whole "bad precedent" thing. Being afraid

I believe that eventually feature phones will be replaced by smartphones. Do you believe that Bada will be a smartphone OS comparable to Android/iOS/WP in the sense that people looking to buy a smartphone will buy a Bada-based one instead o

I didn't know that - I haven't been keeping up with Tizen. But I did read that tizen would also run android applications.

Comparing Bada to WP is apples to oranges. Bada is not a smartphone OS and many (most?) Bada handsets are sold at a fraction of the price of any WP handset. Symbian is a better comparison for Bada and it probably still dwarfs it in terms of

The immediate solution is simple: Settings -> Views: Allow others to see what content I've viewed in feed: No (yes) -- change to no. It's creepy and disrespectful that they would turn this on by default and it looks extremely desperate
