I moved my AMD Framework laptop from Ubuntu to Fedora, no real complaints. Having the newest kernel and Mesa stuff is pretty useful if you're doing any gaming on it.

I'm sure you have other examples (and I'm not really asking for them) but your sshd example would make me dislike the choices Ubuntu made, not systemd. Like I don't blame systemd for snaps being so awful.

I think expecting everyone to enable a still-experimental feature is more than a papercut.

I don't have an Android device but surely anything that excludes can just be accessed via web browser? I use my banks mobile website in a mobile browser all the time.

Like the workstation cards the 4090s support an ECC mode for their memory if that's important.

It'd be nice if there was any documentation on how the sharing side of things worked pre-account creation. Is it a VM image you distribute? Docker container?

How would that help? All the spammers spoof the numbers - hell a lot of them even make their spoofed ID just one or two digits off of mine, presumably to make me curious enough to answer.

They specified they're using 512GB of ECC RAM.

What an awesome post! I recently built a new PC based on workstation parts that frustratingly didn't expose the actual CPU temperature except in the IPMI interface; I was starting to hack something together with Netdata and ipmitool bu

SD 2 definitely seems like an anomaly that they've learned from though and was hard for everyone to use for various reasons. SDXL and even Cascade (the new side-project model) seems to be embraced by horny people.

People in this discussion seem to be hand-wringing about Stability's "saftey" comments but every model they've released has been fine tuned for porn in like 24 hours.

I mean Asahi Linux works really well on many versions of Apple Silicon these days, you're definitely moving goalposts if you're saying that a MacBook isn't a general purpose device.

There's a theory that it's a bunch of bans for anyone critical lately of Bill Ackman - see https://twitter.com/Esqueer_/status/1744724937313837177

Yeah I'm aware of that but that's pretty distinct from "cannot legally be used for commercial usecase".
46.
by lreeves 3y ago
Sorry what does that mean? There are many people creating content and software for commercial use cases with these cards and I've never seen a EULA anywhere preventing this.

If you're using Google DNS servers that seems to happen, I switched my phone back to the ISP DNS and it started working again.

Probably the EVE Online-like learning curve.

Oh yeah good catch, I use AdGuard and thought I had it set to an internal DNS resolver for it's upstream but nope, it was CloudFlare and fixing it fixed the Archive issue. Thanks.

Anyone else get endless captchas these days with archive.is? Tried several browsers including no adblocking and such to no avail.

I can't think of an author I miss more but 155CAD for a book with 6 illustrations seems crazy, especially when Banks isn't exactly making profit from this.

If it's a remote receiver like the Xbox wireless one it'll have to be repaired if you use a different port.

Allowing is doing a lot of work in this sentence when in North America pretty much all political parties I can vote for (that have a chance of winning) support the status quo in power.

There is absolutely zero verification now and hundreds of people have bought the blue check and named their account things like Elon Musk. Some of them have been banned after reports but there's like 14 people left doing moderation so

Yeah only some of them seem to be actually viewable, for example [1] has a link to the PDF but most seem to not have this. 1 - https://armypubs.army.mil/ProductMaps/PubForm/Details.aspx?P...
