On the one hand, you're right -- in that I can see and respect why you say that. On the otherhand, what the heck is wrong with using the syscalls? Every time I write a new high performance networking application, sure, i lose a day or

A+ and thank you for using an article, instead of saying "to be seen on iPhone" ... (like the marketing guidelines decree).

Looks like some advanced level trolling to me. The only way I can imagine 98% of a group being satisfied with such a product is some variant of Stockholm syndrome. Some days it feels like the "Next "Great" Apple product will

It's true, there is a price for some API requests, but it's actually quite low if you're using the cloud storage to populate a local cache! Backblaze categorizes download as a "class B" transaction with 2500 free pe

Speaking for myself, I'm excited about using B2 as a replacement for more expensive local disk in not-heavy-iops-role machines. It's not the most exotic use, but if you look at every vm provider (linode, digital ocean, even amazo

I would love this! Great idea. So far, B2 beats S3 on nearly every metric, with the exception that with S3 I can process data more cheaply with EC2. A crosspromotion deal between Linode and Backblaze would be fantastic.

Uh, what's your complaint? Why in the world would you assume that it has to have the same API as S3? I also don't understand your comments about "cool". You need an auth token so that the subsequent API calls, well, k

Does anyone have any idea, or even educated guess on if and when we might see a price drop on other, now ""outdated"" (not really) GPUs? I was just starting to plan building a desktop with plenty of CUDA cores, and now

This is a fantastic idea!! Do you have a github link or a project page I can bookmark and periodically check on? How hard would it be to adapt to C and/or C++?

This is doable. If one were, uh, hypothetically, to write a library that did this, how would the HN community recommend monetizing it? I have no experience selling my wares to anyone but a large company, let alone an app store or somethin
