Neat idea! There's no C, C++, Perl, or MATLAB entry though, so my ability to help is limited... :/ Surely there's a need for "implement <foo> in better machine code" work, in other languages and projects, no

I'm with you. I used to use Firefox for "everything but videos and gmail", which went in Chrome. But after v92 I think, I stopped going to Chrome for ... anything. My CPU has been happier!

"Bandwidth Alliance" seems to be some sort of B2B consortium. I'll dig into this more later, but unless I'm missing something obvious (I very well might be...) there's not a easy/inexpensive method for me to si

S3 protocol supports multipart upload, which is what you're describing. The client chunks it, the server reassembles. What I'd like to see is PATCH with multipart/byteranges support. =D

Wow! Cool! Very surprised that Cloudflare wouldn't charge an arm and a leg for such a service... considering they're moving the actual bits. I'm poking around at the Cloudflare website, what's the name of the aforement

(stupid question) What does that get me? Does Cloudflare have cheap VMs I can rent with competitive prices? (including data egress fees?) For object storage that I play with, some clients are in the cloud, with most sitting at home behind

Huh, thanks for that. I hadn't noticed (was that always there??). So, sustained egress at rate R/sec means I have to use 2500000 * R amount of storage per month, hrm... Possibly can't use it for one of the "ponies"

B2 charges for egress, $0.01/GB. More interesting to me is Wasabi, which charges ~$0.006/GB*month and no egress fees at all.

Personally, I think it's interesting when I see someone has created something which accidentally conforms to a tangential restricted form. Like, an acrostic, or Bach hiding his initials in the notes. Also, it's not formatting. :)

I was curious so I did the requisite short bit of scripting. I think you're right, the misspellings are independent. For a few words (like "begining") the text contains the correct and a misspelt word. But for most misspelt

Exactly. It might be impressive if it's consistent, or if the number of misspellings is rare. But starting off with a correctly spelt document and then achieving justification by conditionally removing a letter is... not that hard. O

Is there a market for "mathematically superior" tools similar to this? I've been developing this sort of math for more than half my life, and would love to "productize" it. I just never thought there'd be a

Yes! Sortition! It was good enough for ancient Athens, it's good enough for us. (For years, one of my own personal causes I'll advocate to anyone who will listen) Ranked choice voting would be nice too, but the beauty of sortit

Echoing the parallel comment, if you're willing to get your hands into the guts, you can get amazing "RTOS-like" audio performance out of linux. I love pushing the limit of how low latency can get. Start with the PREEMPT_RT
