Yes! Sortition! It was good enough for ancient Athens, it's good enough for us. (For years, one of my own personal causes I'll advocate to anyone who will listen)
Ranked choice voting would be nice too, but the beauty of sortition is that we could completely eliminate not only political parties, but the entire profession of being a politician!
- beardyw 5y agoChoice of people by casting lots is all the way through the Bible too. But if I suggest it to the modern church it is as if I am proposing witchcraft. Perhaps leaving the outcome to God (as was the intention) is seen as being a bit too risky.
