For me I've noticed a huge difference in creativity and authenticity in my products when I've devoted 100% of myself to it. There is a major problem in the industry. There is no one path to a successful business. I find my time is

I'm not sure, I think about that a lot. I've noticed a lot of homeless do carry cell phones, so maybe more free chargers, free and ubiquitous wifi? But that's dumb tech me talking. I think a lot of barriers just come from the

Hm. I guess because everything I've built is out here. I know I have a TechShop membership that if my car breaks down, I have tools, I can prototype hardware there, etc. I have a good solid 6 years here in the city for friends and comm

I recently sold everything I owned and started living out of my converted dodge caravan while I was prototyping what I wanted to build next. With an eye on my burn rate, I lived as cheaply as possible. I can tell you without a doubt that th

This is completely propaganda. "Zeitgeist", "Crystal Ball" -- These are all lagging indicators and gives no authority to YC as having some predictive capacity to the world of technology.

If the funding bubble for startups has burst, fine, look to crowdfund startups and projects that people actually want to use. I wanted to validate ideas early and tighten the feedback loop for products I was building, so we built Baqqer in

Personally the bigger message for me is that as time changes, all things change with time. As long as you're working to achieve your vision, you'll adapt with time, fashioning events in favor of your vision, and with a little luck

Yeah, I see what you're saying. I wonder what would help? An entirely new name? It's been on my mind quite a bit, thinking about what can simultaneously convey community, prototyping, making, and growing. It's difficult.

We're building a similar type of experience over at baqqer for organic communities to exist for people to talk about the things they love. We could use some feedback from the community if you have some time. https://baqqer.c

It's completely disingenuous and is riding on the AI hype train. I've never once ran into a chat "bot" that wasn't human. It's ridiculous, completely misleading, and frankly waters down any real startups workin

I think people are conflating bots with something intelligent, some people go so far as to say AI bots, which is very misleading. There's a lot of hype around autonomous agents, with not a lot of understanding.

Yes. This. Facebook has been known to bait and switch on developers time and time again, even outright stealing what devs have worked on if it becomes competitive. If you build on platforms like this, you're going to have a bad time.
