> Why the need to express yourself so poorly? What is poor about this usage of "fucking"? It's an intensifier, appropriately used in this instance. Some people lean on swear words too much, but I don't think this is such a case.

Do you have any sources for this, or is it just anecdotal? The W3C states a minimum of 4.5:1 contrast ratio[0] for body copy, or 7:1 for users with poor eyesight[1]. If Snook's calculator[2] can be relied upon, this makes #444/#fff a contra

Agreed. Most of the time you end up with a smaller file as it's easier to comment out the various modules as you're going as opposed to downloading customized builds from the website as you work. Also, if Sass/Compass is more your cup of te

It makes the upgrade process easier if you stick to only making changes in their variables.less file[0], or even better creating a copy of it and including that instead in bootstrap.less. Heck, you can even just create your own top-level my

Coffescript is an actual thing - no need to use "quotations". Besides, Messenger will work with plain js too (or any other compile-to-js lang) it's just the examples that are in coffeescript. You can write an example for alert in cs:

Twitter on my desktop has a notification that there are new tweets, and I haven't seen if FB automatically loads more content on the top or follows a similar approach. The point isn't that sites need to be static for the life cycle of a pag

This is not a good idea because it breaks years (decades?) of expected behaviour on desktops. When a user scrolls a page back to the top, the expectation is that they'll see the top of the current page from the most recent pageload. With th

I can read it comfortably if I lean in, but I'd rather not. The text here on HN is smaller than your site, and it's perfectly readable from my normal position.

But I bet that the text you're looking at right now on HN is easier to read than the screenshot. Now consider that people might have dense screens, or sit further away from the screen than you do, or have poor eyesight.

I didn't follow this story, but if she did "help herself" to someone's credit card without their permission, then she is a thief. How does that constitute a "low blow"?

It's easy on my eyes on my monitors. And it's #555 on #fafbfc, hardly "slightly lighter". For that font size/weight I would have gone #333/444 but it's pretty close.

This isn't really what I expected when I saw "music theory". It would be more aptly titled something like "frequency visualizer of chords".

I'd tweak the default colours a bit. The blue is very hard to read on the black bg and the red is burning my eyebs. For example, look at the Solarized theme[0], Wombat-256[1], or the default for Sublime Text[2]. They all have an off-black b

I'm not a Rails guy and I use Sass exclusively. I agree with its design decisions and functionality more so than Less. I've found that most people who install and run Node for command line tools usually also have Ruby in their stack.

I think "backwards" is the wrong word. I'd say "uninformed" would be closer to the point. CMSs manage your content usually through a database, and most of them provide a way to display that content in a structured format. See Wordpress and
