I would even go further: this sounds like a database problem. Is the set of ship positions and watched polygons entirely different from run to run? If not, it should be possible to go much faster than even the new rust based approach that t

It's encouraging to see how digital tools are helping address the "legacy data backlog". This aligns well with the collaborative open-science approach. For those interested, I recently translated an article by french archeolo

How can it be a good idea to have a time limit for the compilation of expressions in a compiler ? Doesn't that mean that your program can compile fine in the morning, and fail to compile in the afternoon because you have an HD youtube

I think the justification is that outside of pathological cases, it allows writing clean code without too many type annotations, and the compiler just figures out everything for you.

let result: Double = -(1 + 1) + -(1 + 1) - 1 Swift 6 takes 6.2 seconds to compile this one line. That's crazy... Swift programmers: do you face this kind of issues often?

This article resonates with me. I do love "mildly dynamic websites", and have fond memories of my days hacking together PHP websites 15 years ago. And what I am working on today might be called a bridge for the "dynamicity ga

It's called learndmarc, not testdmarc. As someone who wasn't familiar with the technologies involved, I like that I actually learned something while using it to debug my email issue.

I love the UI ! It's clean and beautiful. What CSS framework did you use ? I also maintain a database visualization tool (more of a SQL-to-UI tool, actually), where I use tabler.io for styling: https://github.com/lovaso

I do agree that data teams are probably not going to disappear in the short term, and their understanding of the structure of the data they work with is even more important than their SQL syntax skills. But that said, I think we can do bett

You could have integration tests that reproduce what you show in tutorials. This way, when you need to change the tutorial, the integration test breaks, and you know you have to update both the test and the tutorial.

You can do this a little bit easier using SQLPage [1], without GraphViz, and you'll get an always up to date schema: select 'table' as component, 'Foreign keys' as markdown; select *, ( select

I'm not sure what you mean here? The "select 'checkbox' as component" is just an example, but nothing prevents you from creating a my_form table and writing it as "select * from my_form" instead. You don&#
