Not sure how people don’t get this or why my post was downvoted. Maybe it’s just not a comfortable truth for some people.

Uh, that helps nothing. Outside of agriculture, it’s entirely only the rich who are wasting the water (look no farther than the recent example of Kim Kardashian from just this week on this issue) - it’s not like the lower / lower mid

I’ve found a watch to be way more effective than any phone or other device I’ve ever tried at keeping a reliable alarm. And no; not a smartwatch that needs charging every day - or ever…just a timex that might need it’s battery replaced ever

That’s not an excuse. In fact, smaller hacker shops more often than not provide a better experience than most ‘consumer’ shops; and certainly better than the average massive corporation. It’s the kind of place you can maybe talk to an act

Very misleading title. They are not even talking about the glass. f/2.5?! Heh - this is a remarkable feat of intentional engineering; but it’s absolutely useless as a functional camera.

Absolute nightmare fuel. I would pay a lot to never have a device like this. I want more control over my hardware and software, not less. I want less connection to or dependence on any sort of ‘cloud’. Give me liberty or give me a dumbphone

GitHub projects trend on HN because a GitHub page is certainly not ‘just’ a ReadMe and a list of files, any more than a programming book is a just pile of paper and ink. GitHub is one of the most valuable troves of information we have on th

On a Mac, it’s as quick as hitting CMD+Shift+4 and I get a PNG on my desktop. If I’m creating a CSS framework anyway, I’ve gotta test it. It literally takes 2 seconds - literally - to hit CMD+Shift+4 (I don’t know the Windows equivalent) -

The strange, weirdly dramatic style…I’m trying to put my finger on it and having a tough time - the tone in general bothered me. But nothing bothered me more than the actor himself. The way he spoke, his ridiculously teen angst emo attitude

The other day I found a bloody CSS framework of all things for a specific retro style or the like trending on the front page of HN - whose GitHub failed to include images anywhere, or even an easy to access example link. I just cannot und

I had a friend who had a Saturn NetLink back in the day, and I believe that was my first experience ever seeing online play, via Daytona USA. Was like some sort of black magick.

While the N64 was indeed underpowered - mostly due to its extremely limited texture cache size - it still represented what I’d describe to be my first true ‘prime time’ experience with 3D in terms of Super Mario 64. I’d played stuff like Vi

LEGO has - for decades - has had a standard, very basic and awesome system of delivering electricity from a ‘power brick’ that contains standard AA or 9V batteries. It’s very cool, they’ve got little metal clips under these special conducti

Shamefully, a few YouTubers I have subscribed to for a while started shilling this bullshit as video sponsorships. Needless to say, as soon as I looked up the company (it smelled more like bullshit than a cattle farm) - I saw on a rudimenta

No screenshots in the readme of a project like this immediately makes me forget it and completely lose interest. I surely can’t be the only one. It’s a no brainer - especially for a CSS framework - to include visual examples.
