The pyres web interface (where you can view job status) is built using itty. edit: looks like they're using flask now, I don't see itty being used anywhere. They also split the web interface (resweb) into a separate project, so pyres doesn'

Great article, I especially like the "full circle" part. You should mention that the numbers you've created in the end are the Church numerals.

I will be the first to ask: why did Alex / the pypy devs start this project? I thought the three community funded ideas were great (STM, Python 3, and Numpy). What prompted this new project? Is it meant to attract new developers to pypy as

That may be the rule, but it seems perverse to delete useful comments, which add to the conversation, while adding meme pics, which add absolutely nothing useful to the conversation. P.S.: Meme pictures originated on discussion forums.

I think stimulants and amphetamines definitely have an effect on programming. Maybe it affects quantity more than quality, but Paul Erdos, one of the most prolific mathematician ever, comes to mind: His colleague Alfréd Rényi said, "a m

Did you learn python after you learned ruby or javascript? I have the exact same complaint about ruby not fitting in my head, and I think it's because I learned python first.

First off, I really like your posts and books. I learned advice / AOP at a previous job and really enjoy using it and applying it to new things. Your writing on the subject is great! The only thing python does not like is multi-line lambdas

That's probably true, it doesn't have all those features. I guess you'll have to wait around for someone to add them :) edit: stripe's admin interface does some of what you're asking for (recurring subscriptions), sign up and check it out i

How do they handle security? If the software they're using to virtualize these instances is exploitable, then you could break into the host machine and do whatever you like with it.

SQLite should absolutely be used in production, where it makes sense. The one area where sqlite has a big disadvantage is concurrent writes. If you have read-only data, cached data, etc. then sqlite can happily be used in a high traffic p
