Agreed. Also, caring is another high order bit in your output and growth. Butt-in-seat time can be extremely wasteful if you are not engaged with or invested in your work. If you are passionate about what you're working on, it can be a

Are you able to share a concrete example of this process in action to help us 1x plebs understand better?

Agreed. Still not open data though, is it? i.e., we don't have access to the same data they used to train, which is useful for both finetuning and studying the model.

TikTok (ByteDance) is now building an AGI team to train and advance LLMs (towards AGI), probably after realizing they are in a similar scenario.

My earlier comparison was basically saying now that high-profile guests are talking to a much better interviewer (Dwarkesh), we no longer have to rely on Lex as the only podcast with long-form interviews of these guests.

I mostly agree with you. I listened to Fridman primarily because of the high profile AI/tech people he got to interview. Even though Lex was a terrible interviewer, his guests were amazing. Dwarkesh has recently reached the level where

Lex walked so that Dwarkesh could run. He runs the best AI podcast around right now, by a long shot.

I suspect this is because most people (including people writing these tutorials) don't have a strong grasp on this piece as well.

Great video. As a counterpoint to the video author's claims, it's worth pointing out that Devin doesn't have to be anywhere close to as fast as a human software engineer to be useful. Even if it turns an hour task to a day lo

It's more of the fact that we discovered the scientific method and measured that cosleeping is statistically more likely to kill your child. Even if that increase % is small, it's enough for most (western) parents to make the trad

I thought it was more complex than this, something like lack of sleep disrupting hormones that regulate feelings of hunger and fullness.

Funnily enough, the same AI safety teams that held Google back from using large transformers in products are also largely responsible for the Gemini image generation debacle. It is tough to find the right balance though, because AI safety i

It's pretty cool that Google employees can see the first transformer implementation (and the reviewer comments) in cs/. So many monumental moments in AI history are archived in Google's intranet.

I don't think there is a contradiction. The argument is that building fun projects helps you gain expertise to the point where you can more easily recognize painful problems to solve.

You could probably obfuscate the text payload and make it seem like a cool trick you'd want to try out yourself, like "Check out this prompt that generates these cool images with Gemini!" (cool images attached).
