Why do any of the device's network connections (WiFi/BT/etc) need to be on? What's to stop someone recording and uploading later?

I think it's still important for young people to learn coding without the LLM. they need to see the little pieces before they can build big structures. It will be like calculators, just on a bigger scale: you learn how arithmetic works

If you have that much experience, swift is probably just a mix of what you already know? Do a couple of tutorials and then you are ready to vibe it. It's the people who haven't done the grind of learning a new language so have the

> Maybe we should vote for people who are financially literate, can think long term, and can "conserve" rather than politicians who promise endlessly? Who could you vote for, in any democracy, that would fit this? Also, how man

How can you know that verbal articulation is a weak correlate? There must be some other, canonical way to measure intelligence?

Why could you not use text to measure intelligence? Isn't that what we used to do? Have students write an essay, and then deduce that they had enough intelligence to put some thoughts together?

But how do you falsify that? If LLM can always imitate closely enough to appear as-if, how can you ever separate it from whatever actual intelligence is?

This is what I thought "Reality TV" should have been. Genuinely interesting content about real people in the real world. Somehow they managed to just create soap opera with bad actors instead.

Well, a human is limited in how much they can formalize, as per the article. So if you're really careful, you can check over what they wrote. The computer could generate a huge document, how would you check that it's right?

That's not a moat, that's a red queen? A moat allows the owner a degree of passivity. Eg, you own the desktop OS. You are already using this moat to get office software on every machine, while competitors either have to dance to y

I think this is probably true, but a lot of creative things are small-c creative: you brainstorm, you come up with a bunch of vanilla stuff, you connect some of those ordinary ideas. The brainstorming thing, AI is really good at. "Gimm

How do you know that it's formalizing what you think it's formalizing? If your Lean 4 has a bug, won't you be proving something other than what you thought?

Is it really the first generation though? The screen is obviously 1st gen for Apple, but you'd think the rest of it is not: OS, battery, camera.

The decline seems to have started in the 2010s. Makes me wonder if this is connected to Jon Haidt's ideas about the impact of social media.

I don't think you can dismiss the output quality so easily. Give yourself a few hours to write out some code in the old way. Can you really tell me that you could not have done a better job with AI in the same time? Eg, implement chess

This was my question as well. The way I understand it, it's like a compiler, it implements rules, in this case logic/math rules that tell you whether something follows from assumptions you've given it. But how do you know you
