It doesn't always work in my experience. The problem is as you get near the tip of the pizza sometimes it is too narrow to curve and since the line across the pizza is now flat the front drops down.

The bus system in Taiwan is amazing. You see all ages represented from school kids to the elderly. They don't smell and have dedicated lanes in places. There are so many of them that you rarely have to wait more than 10 minutes at any

As someone who is atopic but not asthmatic, I am especially concerned. My guess is that atopic and asthmatic indivdiduals might be at higher risk. As someone in their forties, I can't think of any other potential risk that I am aware o

Interesting and somewhat counter intuitive to me. I imagine that depends on where one lives in a particular timezone. Personally, I prefer DST. During standard time in California, I have to shift my sleep cycle earlier relative to the clock

My opinion is that this type of "dark financing" is more common than many might suspect. I believe this tactic, used by some tech companies to attack competitors, is fairly effective. I imagine it is mostly employed by those like

I go to bing.com and honestly it is more egregious. I couldn't tell which were the Ads and which were the search results. As a Google employee, I am not a fan of the new design and can appreciate consumers' dissatisfaction with it

Depends what you want to do. Are you still passionate about coding? If not they I would suggest management.

I would probably agree on that. My limited experience is that the European teams and engineers are very productive. Maybe Europe gets better engineers there because of less options.

I'm personally not L6+ and totally agree that if you can get to 6 then your compensation changes drastically. At my previous company, I had stock options which had I held onto them would have been roughly comparable in value to my curr

In comparison, The median SWE salary is around ~123K in SV with a median home price in Mountain View of ~1.6m. IMO, there are better options than SV. I would much rather be working in an area like Austin with a much more reasonable COL with

See my comment above. I think this might be rare even for most Googlers, but it is possibly doable depending on on the person.

See my comment above. Basically, this would be challenging to do even at Google depending on the level you get promoted to and requires total dedication to the above, i.e., saving aggressively. I think the advantage of getting into Google r

I actually think the greatest period was under Schmidt. Back then there was a lot of freedom to choose what to work on. Google Labs and 20% projects were healty. It felt like a place where people worked on ideas they thought were cool. Thin
