I just started into "The Island" which reads like the counterpoint to "Brave New World" also written by Huxley. Saying we need it is not enough, because it doesn't get cited even though it exists.

The opposite: Earth rotation is measured by the camera and can't be easily distinguished from camera rotation relative to earth. So image stabilization will also correct for earth rotation, which is undesirable.

Ah ok, so the squabble is just whether the `keepassxc` package is the full or the limited version. That's no biggie but I can see how it's annoying when people raise issues upstream after downstream disabled features.

My reading is that the Debian maintainer disables features at compile time that are pretty basic to the Keepass package. And upstream disagrees about the features getting disabled in the Debian package. "Secure by default" has its

I'm often left scratching my head about what behaviour a test was even supposed to test! One thing I find very helpful is to add my expectation as string message to every assertion in the test. When the test fails, it will tell me whic

I don't think I've ever copied enough from Stackoverflow for copyright to become relevant. Rarely more than one line verbatim. It embarrasses me to think that somebody should feel obliged to cite me when they use one of my answers
