Right, but suppose I know or suspect that a specific person is trying to send me a hashtag, but I don't know what that hashtag is: let's use the example given in the posted website of a new romantic partner wanting to take things

Doesn't this leak too much information if both parties aren't being honest? E.g. you could just submit spouse + every likely hashtag--#breakup, #haveKids, etc.--and then see what ends up matching.

When you boost an orbiting object in this manner there's only two possibilities for what can happen next: a) you give it enough energy to reach escape velocity, in which case there's no problem. b) you blow out the circular orbit

In my opinion, it's already long been "there" for seated, cockpit games. If you mostly play racing/flying games then you're using VR basically all of the time. Otherwise there's still a dearth of "traditi

It hasn't been established that it's better, only that he or she thinks it's better--and we're all trying to understand why that is. Because we're (or at least I am) 99.99% sure that it's much, much worse. T

You're proposing to fire some material around a planet in such a way that it comes back to a mothership with more momentum than it started with. Now imagine that instead of going "there and back", you find a trajectory that

I thought the way these things worked is that each of the N computers can see the state of the other N-1 computers; if your local state differs from the majority opinion you overwrite it, thereby joining the majority.

I completely agree; you discover timelines in the process of doing the work. The problems start when you need to give an estimate before even being allowed to start working on something.

I like this analogy: it's like writing about a difficult or nuanced subject using only "simple English"; each sentence is superficially simple, but the work as a whole is much more difficult to make sense of.

Not really, no. These probes don't really accelerate by burning fuel; instead they pick up velocity by doing a bunch of gravity assists. The more of these you do, the faster you go, but sometimes you have to coast around the sun for
