I always thought the other way around is easier: - if you like more people, then do the tech lead technical track. Why? Because the most difficult part in software engineering is how to deal with people. Since you're already good at it

I would say that, unless you're just starting your career, books like Clean Code, The Pragmatic Programmer and the like are not real "revelations". Software engineering has more to do with people than with software. Have you

How so? One of the most popular (if not the most) websites for developers out there is pretty much HTML + CSS. JavaScript is used, but minimally. "Modern" experience is not necessarily the same as "good" experience. Good

Something I have been thinking about related to this story: we, as humans, will never know what reality is (not just "our" reality as in "our" universe, but "everything"). You either a) have to accept the idea

Think long term. I see many people that want to "get it fast and now"... My advice would be: be slow but recurring. Think learning in terms of years, not in term of weeks.

Impressive. How do you take care of your eyes? Reading 100 books/year means that on avg. you read 1 book in 3 days. I imagine that must put a lot of stress on your eyes?

Silly question: they have 5.7TB in their database... How come? It's a dating app founded in 2012, I can understand that one can accumulate such much data in 11 years, but sure you can periodically archive "unused" data and mo

Nice project. What do you take into account when computing the similarly of two books? Do you use metadata (genre, author, etc.) or something else? Note that I'm more interested in the data that is used rather than in the methodology.

I guess it's subjective. For me the clear advantage of building HTTP endpoints using Go (framework-less) over DRF, Swagger and others is: no magic, no annotations, no dependencies; I know exactly what's happening and I can build a

If Safe Browsing were offered by some neutral internet organization (e.g., similar to IANA) I wouldn't mind. But it's offered by a private company: so it's naive to think that GSB benefits anyone other than Google itself.

This is sad. When you open a business in the real world, sure you have to tell the authorities about it (because it's the law!). When you open a digital business, you have to tell Google (via Google Search Console) about it... But Goog

Which is in some way sad. I know we are not hired "to write code" but "to ship products", and that everything is done in "sprints" and we must be very agile in doing them because they're always non-stop, a
