What do you mean, is a company named “TIFHSGFN” not normal??

It’s been that way for 20+ years. It happens when companies don’t let the experts do the interview or try to filter before hand using HR or other cheaper labor.

If a system requires saints and/or geniuses to work, it’s a bad system.

It’s almost always a factor of not having enough people to run business processes… as soon as companies try to cut back and overwhelm employees, they find shortcuts to make their workload still manageable.

Bullshit, I’ve seen far more disinformation in “free” online places than even Fox News as of late.

I think it’s usually people that allow themselves to get burnt out though… Far too many programmers treat it like a hobby, and are severely taken advantage of by employers. 9-5, go home and don’t touch a computer, It’s just like any othe

The maintainer merged the patch, but the code change came from someone else IIRC.

We tried to get a QA team to use it once… it was apparently too technical for anyone but the devs, so it never really got used much.

Meh. I’ve met brilliant juniors and worthless veterans. I think it’s more important to recognize brilliance in people… That spark of hard work combined with vision and creativity.

I mean, by the same logic, you could say every house should be built from steel. Of course old growth is stronger, just like steel is, but using them for the majority of cases would be simply ridiculous at scale.

Well, agreed, but letting the recruiters filter has always been terrible and they always filter out talent more than they find it. It’s perhaps the most bone headed thing you could do in hiring.

Even just giving Leetcode questions isn’t enough anymore… I’ve had plenty of people just memorize the top 50 used questions and be able to answer them, but then not be able to explain anything about their answer. It’s exhausting.

why the hell do you think that Microsoft would want you to use your basic SMTP server when they want you to use an exchange server? Of course they deprecated that. If you’re using windows then use their ecosystem.
