I think that in an advanced society people should be able to work with people that maybe think you are going to hell after you die for not worshipping the correct God. We don't discriminate based on religion, at least we shouldn't

I couldn't care less about crypto mining and I think, right now at least, it's doing more harm than good. But I'm against putting artificial restrictions on general computing, whether or not I agree on the application. So, ye

I have heard this multiple times and I would love some citations because although most of the reduction in life expectancy may come from death at child birth, for obvious mathematical reasons, I cannot believe wars, famine and disease don&#

I think the very first you need to know is the market. Talk with colleagues, better if they recently moved, and ask for a little more. I think most of my friends know my salary, some earn more and some less, who cares? I'm not sure abo

I think there is this false stereotype of the DS obsessed with cool techniques and detached from the business. Most DS want their work to have impact, actually like most people. But successfully applying data science is hard. We have incred

When I was younger I would systematically read all Linux man pages. I could give much more similar examples. That kind of excitement has vanished, but has been substituted with other things. I try to think longer term. What is limiting me?

I don't know what happened to me, lately I'm becoming more and more fascist. I thought you should pay where you live but I apologize. Clearly not paying taxes was with the best intentions, for a better world.

I don't believe ads are evil necessarily but the "nothing to hide" reasoning is simply wrong. I think most people opting out of tracking is because they feel manipulated. Isn't it the ultimate reason of marketing after a

AFAIK there is Pypy that is much faster. Also, there is Numba. But the problem with Pypy is (was?) interoperability with existing C modules.

There was a time when we gathered a group of friends to order books from Amazon (USA) to Spain to share shipping costs. We were students and waiting a month to save a few bucks was worthy. I'm buying less and less from Amazon recently.
