Side note: highly recommend MST3K The Movie, which features the classic movie “This Island Earth”.

Most private jet flights are more than one mile in length and there are many thousands of them per day. There’s no where you can go (effectively) that you can’t get to with a major airline. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/

I’ll stop using ChatGPT when private jets are banned, families drop down to one car and stop having more than two kids. Seriously there are probably more emissions from a few supertankers/cargo carriers than all LLMs combined.

You can walk into any bookstore and buy a bible, which has plenty of disgusting content in it.

When can we start banning christianity from different platforms? It's not an issue of separation of church and state as these are private companies. The blood on the hands of the church is well documented, not to mention the Catholic C

Both are unfortunate situations. Neither should be priced out.

It pains me to say this, but this might actually be a valid use case for cryptocurrency. These companies are cowards.

I’m afraid behavior like this will only get more common and really shines a light on what a bad deal startups are for anyone but VCs and founders. Windsurf founders should be ashamed of themselves, but of course won’t be.

Then we go to price it in people will say it’s anti-free market.

Are you racing? I haven’t had to change our tires on our EV for 30k miles (we just hit that on the odometer; these are dealer tires).

That’s the point. It’s not crazy. Tariffs are regressive taxes. Rich people buy more stuff, sure, but as a percentage of their income they net out as beneficiaries of shifting taxes from income to spending. It’s totally rational if you want

I’m building a tool to help filter these kinds of low value articles out (especially the flow of constant AI negativity, but it will work for many topics). If you’re interested email me at linotype@fastmail.com and I’ll send you a link when

Of course that would cause a tremendous drop in demand for the services the schaudenfreuden folks provide, hurting them as well.

My wife was forced to pay about $200 to Canada at the border because she had a DUI five years prior. Somehow those shakedowns aren’t mentioned in the news. Edit: I’m a Democrat but for each downvote to this post I’m donating $1 to the Repub

I avoid those platforms already and use Linux/Mac OS instead. Android and Windows were openly hostile to user privacy before ChatGPT became publicly available. And if Apple shoves too much AI into their products I’ll drop Mac OS too.

I’m beyond tired of hearing people complain about AI. Just stop already. If you don’t like it, don’t use it, find a job where people don’t like it and work there. It’s exhausting how Luddite the tech community has unironically become.

Is there a way we can filter these kinds of articles out? It's becoming tiring. Maybe I should start using the API and an LLM to filter.

Exactly, I love LA and there is no amount of money someone could pay me to move to SF. Interesting work, maybe, but SF is just nasty every time I go. Edit: this is my personal opinion, I shouldn’t be so harsh on SF. Obviously a ton of great

Worrying about this kind of stuff is pointless as there’s literally nothing you or I could do to stop it. Best thing to do is prepare and have the best life you can now.

You’re not being cynical, just realistic. The later model year Mercedes or BMW the more likely I see some thirty something talking into the bottom of her phone. They don’t have Bluetooth on Mercedes?
