Not OP and drive a Tesla. Charging stations are pretty large at least where I live. 10–15 chargers minimum and the Tesla nav system tells you in advance how many are available to use.

Sounds to me like this is primarily a self-esteem issue. What helped me in the past is looking at code written by others, figuring out how they solved complex problems. Follow their implementations end to end, try to apply their thinking to

Interesting! Didn’t realize that in Japan women are still treated so poorly. Wonder how long it will take for the cultural norms to change.

Is that a conclusion based on some research? Do you think they refuse to have children in protest?

Not a lawyer, but practically speaking copyright is lost when an item ceases to “exist” itself and can’t be restored. If you cut a painting in half - it’s absolutely still a copyrighted item. If you atomize it and don’t have technology to r

Any sufficiently complex economic system has loopholes, can be gamed, can be subjectively perceived as unfair. This in itself should not disqualify it, since all systems are imperfect. Perhaps this system does not have a built in mechanism

Just to understand better: who are product owners at big(ger) companies? Even PMs rarely talk to customers. PMM? Research? Not sure what size companies have engineers talk directly to customers.

OK, I’ll bite. A very reductionist definition is “bigger contribution = bigger reward”.

The painting that has several cuts in about 25% of the surface area? Don’t think that constitutes as a shapeless pile of dust.

These models produce a lot of “in the style of” content, which is different from an exact copy. Is that different enough? I guess that’s what this lawsuit is going to be about.

So what happens if you put a painting into a mechanical grinder? Is the shapeless pile of dust still copyrighted work? I don’t think so.

Perhaps different media has different rules? You can’t necessarily apply music sampling rules to text, for example. Eg I don’t think incorporating a phrase from someone else’s poem into my poem would be grounds for a copyright violation.

Wouldn’t that require a different approach to paying for computation? From OpenAI perspective there is no difference in spent resources whether you are still tinkering or know exactly what to generate in DALL-E. Which seems fair.

These models are adjusted to match cultural norms/expectations/values. China has that as well, maybe different, but it’s not a neutral blank sheet (obvious examples being anything that contradicts CCP). On your first point: I beli

The argument is that nobody cares if you use a single file with 10K LOC of outdated JavaScript code or a beautiful Rust library to compute whatever. Of course customers care about performance - if your app is unusably slow it is going to be
