After watching someone go through their training, I'm not very impressed. They also enormously inflate their job placement statistics by giving graduates a difficult set of hoops to continually keep jumping through in order to be count

The one thing I've seen help with this problem is to physically separate the bicycle lane from the other traffic. A series of bollards are cheap to bolt to the road or with more effort a grade separation can be made.

This is a cultural issue. I'm new to New York and was immediately surprised by how little drivers care where they leave their cars. Traffic here moves very slowly and a lot of it seems due to lanes being blocked by unattended vehicles.

Wish Apple would hurry up and eat their words so that they can add touchscreens to their laptops. I'm using a mac at work and I so miss my Windows touchscreen.

I was just given a mac at work and haven't figured out how to integrate KeePass with Firefox on OSX. On Windows I was using KeeFox, but I can't find a mac client that include KeePassRPC and the mono instructions didn't make s

This is great. A principled well-considered approach to collecting useful information in a way that respects people's privacy. Go Mozilla!

I agree that JS tooling is out of control. I've been playing with Vue, and TBH have no idea how Webpack is munging all the files in the project into something workable. At this point I've given up on understanding. Likely in the f

Yes. 32-bit is too unstable. 64-bit seems to be a bit better but still becomes unbearably slow after a couple days of usage.

I like where this is heading but their pre-selected categories don't make sense. Container isolation should be based on security requirements rather than site content. E.g. shopping and banking have similar security requirements that a

At first the article claims that saturated fats and sugars are to blame, but then all the evidence discusses obesity regardless of diet composition and claims we don't understand the mechanisms. Not a well written article...

I'm using a touchscreen Windows laptop and can't imagine going back to non-touch. Windows bit the bullet and reworked their UI for touch. It cost them some time, but it seems like they are in a much better position now in that reg

I'm happy to share the code, but realistically I'm unlikely to add features. There are already so many colour pickers that I didn't see the point in adding that functionality. I created the tool while putting together a coupl

I wrote a viewer to better understand the HCL color space. By seeing it in 3D and then looking at different slices you can start to build an intuition about how the colors relate to each other and which colors are available at different par

Use the profiler in the developer tools. Run it for a short while (e.g. 10 seconds) and look at the results. The tab using the most CPU resources will be at the top of the result tree.
