Use the post office. Use paper ballots in the mail. Many security issues vanish if polling places are no longer rich targets. In my state of residence, my ballot is sent in the mail, and I get SMS notifications when it is sent to me and whe

Very nice. Hopefully PyPy compatibility will be added, for speed. Good luck with your aspirations.

Looks like Elm. Why did you add magic imports? It seems strange to go for purely functional behavior and then add magic side effects.

Since nobody else has said it: Oprah isn't herself either. Her backstory is quite amazing, but I would not characterize it as a story of being herself and forcing the world to adapt to her desires; I would characterize her as hard-work

I, too, have contributed to Wikipedia, although I don't really find my contributions to GA/FA efforts to have colored my preferences. I'm not sure what you find "fishy" or "holey"; a trip down memory lane

Compare and contrast with a modern design, like Nix. npm's conception of packages as named, owned, versioned, published, etc. is all window dressing around an inherently-faulty set of assumptions.

Most code should be abstract, because the things that are specified are abstract. Some code needs to be closely coupled to hardware, but most code should only need to be closely coupled with other code.

Hardly! Hypocrisy should always be examined. Let's take your example. I am currently typing on a computer, it's true, and indeed it likely contains minerals and parts made by slaves. The computer was sold to me by local wage-slave

I've met some. I used to date a vegan. They were great. I ate lots of vegan food. Some of it was good, some of it wasn't. I still end up eating vegan meals often, but not intentionally. They suffered no hypocrisies and we often di

You are missing quite a bit of context on the history of Haskell. From https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/research/publication/a-histo... , it seems that Haskell's design did not arise out of Lisp, but out

Use geometric reasoning. If you expect every manager to spend a fortieth of their time on each of their (forty?) direct reports' projects, then that would imply that across two levels, there's only about a minute of consideration,

As an American, I was taught that our style of debate, with its understanding of dialectic and rhetoric, was ultimately grounded in ancient Greek traditions. I don't know how true that is, though. Most public policy debate is so empty
