Same. I sold my 2018 P3D 2 years ago because of that exact reason. I don't want to support someone who is a questionable human from a morals/virtue pov, regardless of how "smart" they are.

Unfortunately people will still want to work there and grind LC and work at other companies as stepping stones to get in.

Why don’t you try to change society then? Honest question why do people always want someone else to do it? Go start a business with your friends who think same way. See if you can build a business that can take care of its employees and do

Then unfortunately they will always be at the mercy of their employer. Whether that employer is paying them 400k plus or a govt job paying 70k.

It’s kind of weird to see people want to work at big corporations but then act surprised or salty about layoffs. It’s nothing personal. You’re a line number even if you’re some leet coder. It’s a business, and it’s a strategy game of utiliz

Those carriages could lose the horse and become fully autonomous and electric. Waymo could run those, you can book them and it’s just a carriage that is motorized.

I think you should find customers who will pay you for that product so it can go from MVP to something bigger based on validation signals. So before moving onto the next MVP first ensure there’s a viable business around that product.

I have a go service running on one instance 1vcpu and 0.5gb ram that can handle 5-7k rps. For like a couple bucks basically per month. I use embedded db to serve as a disk cache and allocate 10gb ssd.

I have always struggled with languages like ruby. def something do end. Swift JS Go Java etc just feel a lot easier for me to read if that makes sense. Not sure why. I’ve worked with ruby in the past, but never liked the syntax. Same with p

Nice that’s great. Yeah exactly, I think there’s some interesting things to try out in different price segments. I’d love a “recurring” subscription type thing for personal garments especially as seasons change.

Sorry but how do things get done at that place? Can’t imagine not getting things done, I mean non profit it’s in the name but whatever cause it’s for surely suffers..

I wouldn't worry. AI is just a branch of computer science. If you know CS, you shouldn't worry. Jobs come and go anyway, it is far more important to have strong critical thinking skills.

LinkedIn just to see what companies are working on or doing, what jobs are out there, etc. I don't really follow people/posts, just do my own searches.

I’m so happy that I’m not on any social media beside this and LinkedIn. I feel bad for people who choose to waddle through ads.

I’m sure if the stack is simple enough it’s non trivial for most senior plus engineers to figure out the infrastructure. I’ve definitely seen a lot of over engineered solutions in the chase of some ideals or promotions.

Nice. I do something similar with low cost instances. I use Go and I get a great bang for my buck (performance to dx to costs). In my case I also leverage the cheap access to gobs of SSD or nvme. I use super cheap VMs for the app servers an

I’m a vegan Hindu person. I do take a multi vitamin, but I’m not a body builder and not an athlete. I get maybe 100g protein a day which I think is fine. I eat dal daily for lunch and dinner is usually something fun with veggies like chili
