Primarily Ubuntu, I'm not sure if this worked on my laptop when I was using Arch a couple years ago... I'd estimate the behavior has been around since 2008-2009. I've found the option[1], but it's not in my alias list. E

^C also pops up this helpful dialog (after you've already pressed it once to get to normal mode, but the use case is that you're probably mashing it trying to figure out why you can't exit this crazy editor): Type :quit&

Lately, all of my tar use has been `tar -xvf filename`. I don't remember it always being the case that those options would automatically gunzip/uncompress, but they do now!

Not sure about that specific school, but when I was an undergrad in higher level classes, it wasn't uncommon to have the online masters students in the same section. Only difference was that oral reports from them would be recorded in

Wow, I just looked up that program. I was in my alma mater's online masters program for EE, but eventually had to cut my losses, because each class was ~$2100 total, so about 3x as much as the Georgia Tech program. I hope to see more l

Check out some videos on the UE4 Blueprints system (flowchart programming). I'm pretty impressed at the product they created there, IIRC there are some games made on Blueprints alone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFZ

I listen to NPR on the commute. Since I'm focused on driving, any newsworthy event has to be mentioned a dozen times before it gets through to me. A sort of low pass filter for news. I tried to follow newspapers and the Economist, but

Recently moved into a house without a microwave, but we do have a toaster oven, so it evens out. I often wish I had a teeny tiny microwave to melt a stick of butter quickly though.
