There is mailspring which I have been using for some time - it has a nice modern interface which imho is much better than thunderbird as well as most of the web interfaces of self hosted email. Based on electron though, so ymmv. https:

This is more of a GUI concern, and I wouldn't expect a bundler like JDeploy to be able to do something about this. An appropriate GUI toolkit should be able to integrate with the native fullscreen. I briefly used the webview for java l

Yup, Kotlin is absolutely a pleasure to work with. Actually, the spring official docs have kotlin compatibility sections and kotlin examples for most major projects now.

Vaadin is interesting, and choice of java is ok (though I prefer Kotlin). But raw jdbc in 2022 is absolutely bonkers. If you don't prefer ORMs that's ok, but a light abstraction like SQLDelight or Spring data jdbc (if you prefer w

Unrelated to the primary topic, but I have been trying out a new free (as in beer) app called lunacy [1] for prototyping and the experience has been great. I am not a UX professional so can't comment on feature parity with Figma etc. I

Atlas is quite nice. I recently started using it in a typescript/node.js project (which was using liquibase before) and I find the DX to be great. Primary additional feature I wish it had is support for manual migrations in addition to

This is not quite true. You can easily use react/vue/solid along with unpkg to build fairly complex applications.

It is an indicator of mindset shift in the larger populance. In a word where mobile and web apps are becoming more and more popular, calling a product a 'software solution' or an 'app' does not immediately make it obviou

This sounds amazing. Thanks for creating this. We have been using liquibase quite successfully (which provides automatic rollback support for most common operations) but have often wondered what it would be like to just define an entity mod

Not technically, but you are guaranteed that if the db transaction fails, we don't end up with invalid data in redis. The other side is not true though, but that will just cause a cache miss if the keys are timestamped.

I may be missing the point here, but isn't it common to address this through a combination of timestamped keys[1] and interleaving database and redis transactions (start redis transaction, start db transaction, update db and add cache
