Can't stress enough number 2. Developing oral skills is extremely important, also it takes a lot of time and you will never accomplish it if you only focus on the written form.

French is my first language and I don't even know of any interesting sources. It saddens me, because I love reading stuff in French.

Personally I don't like synaptic, but if you open up the ubuntu software centre and then click on 'installed software', you will see a list of every application that is installed on your system. Dependencies are automatically installed for

I liked the base ideas of digg v4, but the current site's layout just isn't on par with either digg v3 or current reddit. I like the idea of subscribing to feeds and knowing my friend's votes on the topics we follow together - a kind of soc

If I go to digg.com, I get a message about digg having a broken axle (i.e. it does not work). Is that just me?

I work from multiple locations often, having my contacts, emails, calendar and tasks available from any location is very important to me. The only feature in which I think gmail is lacking/lagging behind is the tasks one. I've tried using s

I had to install the plugin first by going to gmail.com/call, then after restarting my browser, the call phone line appeared in my google chat panel.

Well.. I'm in Quebec, Canada and just tried it. Works for me. Unless they plan to remove support for Canada at a later time...

How long in advance should someone start to look for their visa? Before applying for YC funding?

Aaannd done. For the past few months, whenever I got stuck on a problem, I almost instantly stopped thinking about it and switched to a reddit tab, instinctively. I do not know why I did that, but it certainly slowed me down. Perhaps I'll b

This stuff always has a warm and fuzzy feeling to it, but imagine the pain of implementing a full game with such physic effects, setting all the particles...

Pandora is no longer playing in Canada, it is such a nice service. Much cleaner and more pleasant to use than the alternatives like Deezer.

I'll add to this list : - The Red Sparowes (their first 2 albums) - The Redneck Manifesto

What salary can one expect while working for a YC startup? Is it comparable with the industry's average?

This convinced me to give DuckDuckGo a try. I can't say I love the design though. I'd prefer a more professional look.

And explained part of the reason why I prefer the one unit game, because to be a pro it doesn't require you to be a total freak.

I love the idea, seems terrific. This has gotten me pretty motivated to learn some new stuff. I plan on taking the span 101 class and the game theory class. I only wish someone would open a Russian class, I'm getting a bit rusty...

I love the idea because I don't always have time to check HN daily and am sure to miss out on some great stories. This is the opportunity to do some catch up.
