clearly you haven't been in too many third world countries :) try getting a reliable yellow taxi driver in those countries who WON'T try to pull a trick on you :) they exist, but are a minority (or at least not a majority)

a good programmer should be able to identify bad companies to work for, which could solve many of the issues displayed in the article. it's much like choosing a good life partner - choosing a good life partner (instead of a crazy one)
