To be honest Microsoft has a habit of layering on functionality on top of existing functionality in a piece meal approach so that you end up with a solution which is 75% compatible with the standards but not quite. Despite being a software

It's actually a pretty interesting idea but I think without government legislation on the matter a lot of white hats will run afoul of existing laws and end up serving very long sentences.

A few days back I see (yet another) article about Stephen Hawking's concerns for humanity and AI's potential for harm. Today I see we're teaching AI how to scare us. Super :)

I'm certain we'll see AI which is smart enough to replace a lot of tasks which humans currently perform. For example paralegal work, medical diagnosis, logistics solving for cargo and military applications etc. What I cannot wrap

I read about it in a UK magazine called 'The Big Issue' probably about a decade ago. A quick Google turns up nothing unfortunately but IIRC the policy was practised in just a single region, not nationwide so perhaps they discontin

Years ago I read about an excellent effort in Italy to reduce the homeless problems there. They examined what made folk homeless and what kept them there. A big focus was on re-employment and having a fixed postal address. Those who lost th

I've been a software dev for 10 years. When I started I saw the transition from Perl to PHP and a lot of snobbishness from the former towards the latter. Seeing the changing of the guard in web languages was pretty instructional and it

We did have WSUS running on our 2003 Secondary Domain Controller servicing Windows 7 and 2008 Server clients just fine. But as another poster said, 2003 is seriously EOL so the latest versions of WSUS might not work.
