I'm implementing our PCI compliance by putting the entire credit card transaction handling offsite.

I think they will go the way of IBM: Relevant and profitable but not the all-encompassing mega-monopolist.

Exactly, it seems weird that a country which has the fastest internet in the world has tied itself to the slowest browser around.

Item #2 of The Zen of Python is my favourite: Explicit is better than implicit.

The barcode doesn't work for me: Item not found. I'm on a HTC Hero, Android 1.5 (argh), T-Mobile Germany. Are there any minimum system requirements? Edit: Duh, it says on the page that you need 1.6.

Maybe I'm a little biased but being a payment solution and having a URL ending in Home.aspx shouts "Hack me!".

I agree, the article seems to be going nowhere. It is neither criticising, praising or analysing but rather tell a mundane story with no conclusion to speak of. The author himself doesn't seem to be overly concerned with the iDevice's acces

It would be great if Microsoft would start being embarrassed about their current browser offering and develop some ambition to make a great browser. It looks like they're trying.

I do wonder though why these industries have such an attraction on many people. Sure, I'd love to work on a Hollywood movie in a plush office but I love my dignity even more.

I am German and have lived in England and in neither country I have seen a lot of enthusiasm for video refs or more severe penalties. Generally, people enjoy the unpredictability of the game.

These are the countries where football is most popular. Why shouldn't they have the most influence? I don't know if there is such thing as a World American Football Association, but if there was, I'm sure Americans would call the shots.

I agree. Referee decisions are a neverending source of outrage and drama and exactly the reason people love football. It makes it a human thing. The cynic would say that it provides emotionally crippled men with an outlet for showing their

Question for the Americans: Is soccer really on the brink of becoming a popular sport in your country? I read that ESPN is investing lots of money into the world cup coverage and reddit is full of related submissions.

This might be the killer app for next generation networks for countries that don't have it already. It'll go from "Oh well, Youtube is a little slow but I won't spend money on a better plan for that ." to "I absolutely must have a 20Mbit c

Saying sorry (even for something you didn't do) is always a good strategy. Another one of my favourites: Phrasing a request like you're asking a favour even though you're just telling someone to do their job.

Yeah, I wonder too what he means by that. There are plenty of websites which track and don't use any Flash. What sort of tracking is he speaking of?

Nice execution but as always I wonder why the author preferred canvas over SVG. Nothing wrong with canvas but aren't those tabs a perfect example of a vector graphic? edit: SVG typo.
