Here are some other ideas to consider, which would be more practical than Dyson Spheres imo, and don't require more deviations in currently known physics than the construction of a star-sized solar panel: - a civilization which has dis

Nice strawman. Either way, you need new physics (to build a structure that large), so why not have a little more creativity while you're in the process of blatant speculation?

A well done data-driven thought experiment, but I do have to ponder why the scientific community has settled on Dyson Spheres, as opposed to more exotic, "alien" ideas. I mean, do we really think a thirty-five million year old civ

Reminds me of the film War Dogs. Great idea. Hopefully you are successful, and can cut out some of the cronyism and result in improving government program quality a bit.

Note that your link describes support for the vaccine being withdrawn after causing autoimmunity in a non-negligible number of people. Anti-vaxxers don't typically go out and get a new and unnecessary vaccine, so I don't see how t

Not everyone has an eye for data, but this is a pretty clear correlation (time delayed, of course) as far as real world macroeconomic signals go. Contrary to your claim, significant increases in M2 have historically predicted increases in i

Recommend you take a look at this to see more factors involved in inflation, in a more quantitative light: https://www.lynalden.com/inflation/ . The reason CPI is a terrible metric is because measuring inflation is very

Bretton Woods ended in 1973. Any time before then, the money supply was strongly impacted by the government's gold reserves. The only real anomaly in that chart is 2011, which is concealed by the fact that CPI is a terrible inflation m

Your link doesn't support your conclusion. Growth in M2 clearly precedes increases in inflation by 1-3 years.

I had to re-derive it for a perfect cone to be sure. You are correct; at a distance where the size of the cross section of the beam is significantly larger than the source, deviation from inverse square becomes negligible.

I don't think that's true. The flux cross section f(2r)/f(r) = 4 is derived specifically for an isotropic radiation source. You would need to re-derive it for whichever beam shape you want to model. EIRP is describing that th

Then people will tend to buy less of them to fit their budget. Here is the most telling chart: inflation-adjusted wages in the US [0]. They never change, because the CPI uses a survey to determine what the average American is buying, and ho

The CPI basically measures the median American's budget. So if wealth inequality is unchanging, then it's a decent measure of economy-wide inflation. Otherwise, it measures inflation x delta wealth inequality.

I'll save you a click: people with below median income cannot afford median two bedroom housing. I don't really see how this logically could not be true, unless minimum wage was the median income or rent was commodified.
