You might as well be talking about the boogieman. Who are these whales who control the market? Why were so many mega-whales selling at $27K and lower this year, when they could have sold at the top? Michael Saylor is one of, if not the bigg

I would say yes, there's definitely a delay. The price of the beef in your Big Mac was negotiated years ago. Ongoing supply contracts (which are made when companies feel confident about the prospect of inflation in the economy) probabl

Perhaps I struggle to articulate this clearly because it seems so obvious. If there are 3 potential logical causes being discussed (QE, reduction in supply of commodities due to covid, and reduction in supply of fossil fuels from Russia sin

While supply chain problems were real during the pandemic, especially w.r.t. automobiles, QE is by far the driving force of our current economic situation. Here is some data to put your talking point into context. Look at the recent product

Predictably, the Fed's quantitative easing combined with stimulus created inflation. You can make a decent argument that the initial policy was the right thing to do. I mean, if you're going to force people not to work because of

The fact that your factual, noninflammatory comment is being downvoted reflects very poorly on the state of intellectualism on HN. Every time crypto drops 30% you see the same tired arguments and cringeworthy jealousy / schadenfreude.

I'd recommend an under desk treadmill if you work from home. You can get a solid one for $400 on Amazon. I haven't had back pain since I started doing 50% of my work walking (much easier to get used to than it sounds).

I think the solution is in reforming capital gains taxes. You should only get the discount on taxes if you hold for 5+ years. And even then, the brackets should be more progressive for extreme (e.g. hundreds of millions) in income.
