If you plan on letting llava-v1.5-7b drive your car, please stay away from me. More seriously, for safety critical applications, LLM have some serious limitations (most obviously hallucinations). Still, I beleive they could work in automoti

It does not matter. In the 80s, they owned the whole photography market, now they only exist as a shell of it's former self. By not pursuing this tech, they basically committed corporate suicide over the long run and they knew it. They

Why do you think transformers won't be key in making a level 4+ self-driving AI. It seems to me that Vision-capable multi-modal transformers could be the missing part: they can understand what is happening in the world in a deductive w

A better example of that behaviour would be Kodak which invented the first digital camera as soon as 1975 then killed the project, because it was a threat to their chemical business.

It's a really cool demo and I'm impressed by the dexterity of the robot, however I'm a bit underwhelm by what's shown here in the sense that the speech and reasoning capabilities is just obvious to anyone who's been

A few were not very insightful, but likely obvious to anyone paying attention. Automobiles de guerre: tank were already right around the corner, 15 years away. Audition du journal: commercial broadcasting was 20 years away, with early effor

Why would a crowdfunded ai project need to be in Japan particularly ? But regardless, part of the answer might be that it might be more attractive for "capable people" to get serious money working for a for-profit AI company at th

In my own limited experience in Europe, yes, it indeed can happen occasionally, especially during the holiday rush if you are travelling a popular route. I haven't found it to be much an issue in practice. You can avoid the worse of it

Indeed, that's not true that travelling long distance is too much of a hassle for most people, that's just fearmongging from the anti-EV crowd. Sure, if you are the type with a superhuman bladder who can drive 1000 kilometers with

I think you are reading too far into that comment. It's probably about them using Android as a base OS. I doubt they have any plan to make their proprietary parts available to other manufacturers and honestly I don't know if it wo

I think the examples given in the article actually are in favour of the idea that AI will not be a catastrophe. Most people don't want to spend their life doing gruesome work on a farm, most people don't want to spend their life t
