That's what's pretty good about the status quo in the UK with regard to this app: as the article states, it is not legally a speed camera and can't be used for speeding fines but the police can use the uploaded evidence to pr

God this is tiresome. There are so many good xkcd comic strips that could be posted with more nuance and applicability to the subject matter. But almost everytime a link to xkcd is posted, it is to #927. It's utterly inane. Anyone who

Au contraire. You'll find all sorts of people with different ideas, interests, curiosities, tastes, desires, opinions, vices and virtues; the full gamut of humanity, as you might expect in a metropolis of near 40 million. Yes, certain

Read the link again....you're not wrong: > Pulumi doesn’t “use” Terraform under the hood at all, it uses Terraform providers in order to map the cloud provider API surface. Which is a real devious piece of sophistry.

Windows NT/9x/2000 represented the high point for aesthetics. Light grey, rectilinear, clear delineation, all contributed to being easy on the eye and functional. Glad to see it make a comeback.

The idea that workers were lording it over the rich from the 1930s through to the 1970s is preposterous. Unless the words political and control have been twisted to mean their polar opposites.

Quite. When he said on SNL "I re-invented electric cars", I thought yes, you and 1000s of very smart engineers at Tesla did, not you alone. The leaders at the top of these companies get way too much credit for "having the vis

Magic modules is a strange beast. It relies on manually writing YAML, containing serialized Ruby objects. You then invoke rake tasks to generate Go code. And even then, magic modules only covers some of the resources in the GCP provider. Th

This is good news. This will reduce the barrier to entry to all sorts of software leveraging Cloud APIs, not only Pulumi. (I believe crossplane.io might be following a similar approach). Much sweat and tears has gone into hand writing Terra

It would mean Pulumi has better coverage than CFN and terraform. Indeed as their blurb states, Pulumi would have 100% coverage. But I'm skeptical.

According to [1], "Native providers are built directly and automatically from the cloud provider’s API...", and are not hand-coded, unlike Terraform's providers. I'm surprised this is possible. If it was, why didn't
