As a small business owner who could find himself on Yelp, I can somewhat sympathize with some of the owners (although not the woman in the article, she just seemed nuts. A much more appropriate thing would be to contact the negative reviewe

You probably shouldn't even have to ask a passionate person this; at some point in the interview, they probably would've told you what they enjoy doing outside of work. Regardless, there's no perfect way to interview someone for a developme

I guess I didn't mean my entry as a way to do better in an interview, but just to become a better programmer by trying to solve small problems quickly. Kind of like doing a http://projecteuler.net/ (Project Euler) problem in your head whi

Some great projects in here, I'd love to see a thread like this more often. I'm working on a new eCommerce shopping cart - IONCart. Check everything out at GitHub - http://github.com/leftnode/ION-Cart or on my blog - http://leftnode.com/

I wasn't aware Netbooks were up for dying. I guess I'm behind the times, but I still thought they were a pretty hot thing. I have an Asus EEE and its absolutely great. I use it as much as my desktop. Sure I don't develop or play games on it

New PHP development may not be as popular now-a-days (according to that graph, just the other day someone posted a link saying there were gonna be 5.2 million PHP programmers in 2010), but there's certainly a ton of legacy software to sup

I'm not entirely sure I agree with this list. Here's some I would add: PHP - even if you loathe its every existence, if you're a web developer, you're going to come across it, might as well know it. Perl - text processing, data scraping, al
