More about language, apparently, not all languages have that "ideas within ideas within ideas" property you were talking about. The Pirahã language of an indigenous people in Brazil is the counter example. This New Yorker article

Anti-depressants aren't like a "happy pill". It's not like soma from a Brave New World.

Britain's move to representative democracy from a monarchy is somewhat of an example, although one could argue that power is still concentrated.

It's impressive to see the difference between the dagger as it was discovered and as it's been restored, but I'm really curious to see what it would look like in "like-new" condition.

Maybe I'm missing something, but if a city is composed of city blocks and by induction then a whole city is surrounded by roads.

This is a strong claim, without any evidence to back it up. There may be some truth here, but against most metrics, UCs are among the top research institutions in the world with amazing contributions to science, medicine, etc. etc. Could

I think part of it could be the 9% guarantee[1] which mandates that the top 9% of California high school students be offered a place at at least one UC. [1]: https://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/admission-requi...

If you're sick of Roku's ads and constant conflicts like this, consider a device such as https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/shield/ which runs Android.

The terminal in JetBrains apps is smart enough to know when ctrl-c means copy and when it means abort. It's definitely a solvable problem.

I watched a well-made documentary recently that talks about fire management and controlled burns in California. I highly recommend it for anyone interested in forest ecology, fire, etc. https://www.amazon.com/Not-If-But-Whe

If the reason they do these things is for money (which I think is fair to assume) then money is clearly an effective incentive. The fines just have to make it unprofitable.

Google assistant does this. You can hum a song, or sing and it will recognize it with decent accuracy. Though humming camp town races lead me to this gem... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFFykQIrPCk

I appreciate you taking the time to write something so thoughtful and sincere, and I really hope OP takes it to heart. Love and empathy is the only way to healing in my book.

I guess I was imagining a conflict as the result of a race condition. Two concurrent changes are made where if they were ordered, there would be no conflict.

So like a branch that automatically rebases on another branch? I think the issue with this is the inevitable conflicts and race-conditions. While nice in theory, often you need manual control to sort things out.

My team does something similar to this. We write our Terraform configuration as Python literals with list comprehensions, conditional expressions, etc., then use a script to dump it to JSON which the Terraform command line can parse. Here&#
