My personal theory of how this will play out is that Mars will be a shallow gravity well industrial base for solar system development. We take for granted how integral gravity is to pretty much every thing we do when it comes to building st

Well, HN does do something, it's currently the highest level of discourse I know of on the internet today. The greatest pearl to muck ratio one could say. I agree the quality has declined in recent years, as these things do with popula

I've also been guilty of this for a long time. I annoy myself, and fear I undermine my credibility when talking to peers and managers. > I think that when I'm speaking, I want to say words faster than my brain can build a sente

When I was growing up our family had a fairly sizeable strawberry patch. My Dad enjoyed gardening, and for a few years my parents canned the produce we produced. Strawberry preserves were a treat I didn't realize until I was an adult.

Hell, some companies will even walk you out (terminate, fire) when you give notice, and deny you the two weeks earning you would've made. I've seen this happen at multiple companies, to multiple people, myself included.

It's even simpler, "tell me about a challenging bug you've vanguished, what it was and how you solved it." People in the trenches love to tell war stories. I do.
