NCTUE was new to me... I love that they're apparently gathering all this data to sell, but if you don't want your data to be sold, you have to snail mail them or call them...

Agreed. The demo highlights "extra" AWS code for authz + authn, but doesn't explain how f0 doesn't need it... Does the server need to set an ENV? You could argue that's no different then one AWS auth method. This lo

The article mentions hydration (a process to reduce the penalty of first access of a data block). This is done by essentially reading the entire EBS volume with the tool like fio or dd. The time it takes to complete this process is relative

The article talks about fio to warm the drive... That's basically fast snapshot restore[0]. This reduces the "first access" penalty for "dirty" blocks. This is probably the slowest part of the entire article (it

We offered "usage+minimal base fee" (cost-plus) based first, then used that data to determine fixed rate plans based on the initial customer usage. We still offer both, but fixed rate outsells by far because of the reliable bill..

Distilled water is effectively demineralized... Not perfect... technically it's collected steam from boiling water, so it kills most bacteria and leaves most other material or minerals that can't be carried by steam.

I'm not sure "large percentage" is a statement I'd agree with, my searching skills are failing me, do you have any kind of source for that? I'd be shocked if it was over 5%...

My argument is: weather. I think it is fine & better for society to have applications and models for things we don't fully understand... We can model lots of small aspects of weather, and we have a lot of factors nailed down, but n
