I noticed that there seems to be a 3-6 month reset of my dopamine baseline after stopping stimulant meds, so things like emotional modulation, eating impulses, motivation, and even digestion took a bit to return to something I'd consid

I understand the cheekiness of this comment, but reproduction in many societies has indeed become more difficult for many of the same reasons (among several others). The sex hormones that orchestrate lactation and mother-child bonding are l

There used to be a exact clone of HN for finance called Quant.ly but this is now some trading tool and i can’t even find evidence of it in the wayback machine on internet archive. Time for a new one, perhaps?

True to HN form the proposed remedies tend to be technical in nature (though not necessarily wrong). This is another one of those problems best rectified with legal protections, not blog posts about how to disconnect the antennas. At the st

This comment proves the author’s thesis, which is “The culture is ageist so you probably won’t stand out using the same skills as the newer devs or companies. Find an obscure, unsexy, perhaps almost obsolete niche and specialize because the

Are you asking if Java is unfashionable enough for it to be seen as a legacy niche- like COBOL or 4GL? Just because it’s out of fashion doesn’t mean isn’t crowded…

Not quite $100 but I see the aging yet highly-regarded, video-centric Panasonic GH4 sold used for as little as $200 without a lens. This is the camera many small-midsize video production outfits have stuck to for a >decade. There are man
