I had trouble getting past his claim that an MBA costs $100,000 per year. A quick search reveals that for HBS, tuition is $53,000 per year. Maybe he means the total cost of the degree is $100,000?

I think the blog title is a bit sensational here. 'Patent trolls', at least as I understand the term, do not produce products. That's the whole point: they're trolls because they do nothing but sue people, without adding any value themselve

From a mathematical perspective, this is actually not that surprising. Think of the act of clicking the first link in the Wikipedia article as a function that takes in the page you're on and outputs another page. If you call this function o

The author is basically using a linear algebra tool for creating orthogonal basis vectors of a matrix of stock prices. (The PCA is like eigenvector decomposition, but it works on rectangular matrices too. In fact, unlike many operations, it

One possibility is that for a startup founder, there usually is a great variety of work. One hour you could be writing code, the next answering a support email, the next pitching a prospective customer, and so on. It could be that by switch

It's great to see that the list of changes to make does not include anything enormous, ground-breaking or incredibly difficult. The author is basically proposing a few subtle changes to the tone of the hackathon -- I'm glad to see it had su
