There's nearly zero AI zealotry on here. As of the time of my posting, almost every comment here on Hacker News is both supportive of the measure and largely against AI. This is now a neo-Luddite messaging board.

Yes, read more carefully: one copy. Do you panic when the "wrong person" buys a single rare book? The issue is that the copyright holders and book publishers make it hard to make more copies, not that somebody bought a single copy

The advice subreddits were absolutely horrible before AI. The entire 2016-2024 period was utter madness there, likely as a result of globalization. As AI gets smarter, it may make the comments better, sadly!

I like Zed but the defaults for tabs (CTRL+Tab and CTRL+Shift+Tab step you through some diabolical tab selector in what is allegedly (but not really) recency order instead of just left/right. It really made me question their sanity.
