It’s literally classic prisoners dilemma? Hint: it doesn’t give warm fuzzies.

The principle of ‘Standing’, however, means that you also cannot sue unless you can show actual harm to yourself. Yes, these contradict each other somewhat.

First one makes sense, second one I’m quizzical about. Inheritance taxes tend to only kick in at the 8+ digit range. If anything, taxing that should encourage descendents to do productive work, eh? Since not taxing it, but taxing other thin

If he still has them, it’s probably ‘garden variety’ workplace embezzlement. Make up some sources, pretend to pay them, cash the payments. He probably just got sloppy, and it got too obvious.

lol, this government is going to just throw anyone trying into the meat grinder. The only way to do this is to bypass the authorities.

Well, also AI can’t really physically do anything, like look at reality using it’s own eyes or touch anything.

They made their domestic steel industry ‘flourish’ by getting every peasant to make their own steel mills too, and mostly crashed their economies. When things line up and the decisions are decent, top down can be really good. When the decis

It’s a lot higher pct when you count vpns with JS filtering, ad blockers, etc.

Good/bad entirely depends on if you are management/shareholders, or the engineer in question. It was pretty nuts either way though eh? End of an era

Eh, I also saw it as a rather blatant attempt to undermine the bargaining power of the Software Engineer (which had grown to insane proportions over the years) - both in working conditions and raw cash money. In many cases it really didn’t&

It’s basic self defense. Who runs around the web in 2026 allowing random JS? Might as well be licking seats on the subway.

You’re the one that seems to not fully understand the scale of what is happening - economically. ‘Months of US supply’ == large portions of the world GDP. People want to get rich and/or not starve now (and for the next 20 years) too.

Uh ok? That seems rather pointless as a comment on current affairs. This will change things for the foreseeable future, and is certainly going to move the needle over that time.

By that definition almost nothing is game changing? The US is one of the most oil hungry countries on the planet, and even 3 months supply is a quarter. That would definitely move the needle on prices!

Even close to 6 months of US capacity is huge.

In my experience, you’ll eventually hit a context window issue and it will just start spouting gibberish/doing wrong things, and nothing will significantly improve it. But hey, maybe it’s improved.

When market cap goes down because overall valuation does, what do you think is happening? Valuation hasn’t been tied or related to earnings for top stocks in at least a decade. It isn’t ’wealth redistribution’. Removing half or more of mark

It depends on the asset and the ability to earn income from it. The higher the rate, the harder it will be to do. At some point, only speculators with deep pockets and the desperate with enough cash flow could do it.

If owning stock (passively) all the sudden got taxed to any notable degree, you’ve just dramatically changed the value calculus for most of the world economy at this point. It would be shocking if the price didn’t crash.

It does change that there is a multiplier. Even 5% is likely a deathknell for all but a couple percent of assets owned by the most aggressive ‘sharks’. A good way to make owning anything unaffordable though! The carve outs would just defact
